Regenerated
Fibers
Splash is the biggest user of recycled polyester in the Middle
East. Our fibers, such as polyester and nylon, come from
plastic and increase our sustainability quotient.
Tencel
Tencel garments are made from wood-based natural
cellulosic
fibers which are manufactured using an
environmentally
responsible production process. They are
biodegradable,
compostable and can fully revert back to
nature.
Sustainable
Viscose
This fiber is 100% biodegradable and causes less carbon
emissions during manufacturing. Our garments are made
of naturally botanic fibers that come from sustainable forestry
plantations.

All paper tags and packaging materials used in Splash are
FSC
certified (Forest Stewardship Council). This helps
prevent any
damage to natural forest and also contributes
positively
towards conservation of forest.
FSC promotes environmentally appropriate, socially
beneficial, and economically viable management of the
world’s forest. FSC is the leading catalyst and defining force
for improved forest management and market transformation,
shifting the global forest trend towards sustainable use,
conservation, restoration and respect for all.

Sustainable
Packaging
Splash is one of the few brands globally, and the only one in
the
region, that uses compostable polybags made of corn
starch for
garment packing.
Compostable polybags made of corn starch disintegrate into
organic manure within 180 days under natural conditions,
while
a normal polybag takes more than 500 years to
decompose.
The use of compostable packaging gives us the power to
integrate the principles of a circular economy into our
packaging
and reduce our carbon footprint.

Biodegradable
We replaced our conventional polybags with oxo-
biodegradable bags that degrade over time with
microorganisms present in a landfill. They are 100%
recyclable.
This initiative aims to reduce the impact of discarded clothes
on the environment by extending the life of garments
through
recycling, charity donations and the used clothing
industry.
Milestones
80% Sustainable Garments
By the end of 2020, 80% of the Splash product line will be
made using
sustainable raw materials. That’s 50 million
sustainable garments.
Splash is the first brand in Middle East to become a
member of
BCI (Better Cotton Initiative). BCI is a Geneva
based nonprofit
making organization, BCI runs the largest
cotton sustainability
program globally. making global
cotton production better for
the people who produce it,
better for the environment it grows
in and better for the
sector’s future. BCI aims to transform cotton
production
worldwide by developing Better Cotton as a
Sustainable
mainstream commodity. Better Cotton is sourced
via a system of Mass Balance. Splash Fashion has committed to
80% of its total cotton being more sustainably sourced
(Including BCI and Organic) by 2020.
