Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a fashion shoot? You might be surprised to discover that it’s not always glitz and gloss but it is glamorous, nonetheless, in fact even when things get dirty we don't lower our fashion quotient.

Watch Splash TV presenter Clare Geeves as she goes behind the scenes of Splash Fashions’ latest video shoot. She joins resident Splash model Masha and the glamour girls and boys, on location amid industrial cranes, pipes, hardhats and makeshift green rooms for the 'Get Dirty' campaign of the new DNM collection by the brand.

It’s an unusual backdrop for the fashion industry, but the cement, dust and sand provide the perfect setting to accentuate the new hard hitting denim collection. So get clicking and check out the making of a campaign which will make you want to roll in the sand wearing your favourite denims.

Summer skirt for workIt’s the perfect time for some more style advice from Prianca Pradhan, our regular guest fashionista (or should that be “Splashionista”?) from local blog Fashionably Yours. As the weather starts to heat up, Prianca turns her attention to summer skirts.

Summer blues

This season’s latest infatuation is for beautiful electric blue! I’ve just discovered the perfect summer skirt at Splash — it’s ideal for dressing up for work and dressing down for the evening. Here’s how the same skirt can be transformed into two completely different looks:

For Work: Team your electric blue skirt with a sheer white top and discreet gold and neon accessories for an on-trend look: a gold belt and bracelet strikes a stark contrast with the blue, while the statement neon bag adds a quirky, trendy touch of style. Summer skirt after hours

After hours: Add a dash of bright pink to contrast with the electric blue, together with a funky necklace, belt and envelope clutch. The asymmetric, dalmatian print top adds drama to the outfit while the candy pink gives it a girly charm.

However you wear it, an electric blue summer skirt is definitely this season’s must-have item; the fact that it’s so color friendly and versatile makes it my current hot favorite.

Look out for more from me in the coming weeks. You can get lots more tips and insights into the local fashion scene by visiting us at www.fashionablyours.net.

Calling all aspiring models: if you’ve got style, Get Dirty!

Splash is looking for fresh new faces for our new DNM ‘Get Dirty’ Denim Campaign. We want college students with some serious attitude and flair, guys and gals who aren’t afraid to show off their style in front of a crowd and represent one of the Middle East’s biggest homegrown fashion brands.

What do you get in return? Only a shot at walking the ramp with pro models at the Splash Fashion Show, Dubai’s biggest, broadcast to a TV audience of millions. You also get to take home whatever you wear, plus Splash Gift Vouchers to keep your looks a la mode.

So what are you waiting for? Signup is a snap – just share your information and a couple of your best photos, and we’ll let you know if you’re invited to join the big show. Register online or via Facebook and you might just be selected to debut fresh, dirty denim from Splash.

Splash was created to cater to the fashion needs of the customer who loves fashion and shopping but doesn’t want to break the bank to look good. In a world whose mantra is ‘constant change’, the region’s leading high street brand has turned Legally 18 in 2011 – and this is no mean feat to achieve.

As a high street fashion retailer, we try to understand our varied clientele and work on creating a paradigm of change. We not only reflect the young, vivacious, funky and on-trend audience who understands the essence of fashion, but also cater to the basic, everyday needs of the consumer. The value we bring to the table is unmatched, because of which Splash has grown manifold and managed to retain the confidence of its customers as a leading fashion contributor in the region.

We at Splash constantly adapt to all things new and evolve with the changing mindset of the audience. For us, the year 2012 is a brand new canvas which we aim to paint bright with our achievements. All geared up for ‘A New Beginning’ in a year of unprecedented change, we aim to go beyond the boundaries of the region and explore new countries and emerging markets for which our business development team is actively looking at partners and associations.

Continuing with the momentum of change, Splash will be re-branding all in-house labels to one brand name, SPLASH, ensuring every customer’s fashion need is addressed within the Splash label. This will also extend to the rolling out of our 8000 square foot boutique-format stores with only Splash products, which will make shopping an even more pleasurable experience.

And just as fashion evolves in today’s world, so does communication – which made us realize that a refreshed website and a new blog are probably the most interesting way to communicate with an audience that loves Splash. It is our chance to share all things inspiring, lifestyle and fashion tips to stay on top of the game and ideas on how to look your best, along with talking about the newest trends and hottest new looks.

An interesting combination of brand, product, fashion shows, calendar launches, blogs and competitions, the new Splash website is a fun way to know more and connect with us at all times. With regular updates and exciting news, the website and blog will be buzzing with activity. We do hope you enjoy reading our blog and browsing through the new website as much as we did creating this for all you fashion-forward people.

Let me also add that there is no dearth of glamour. On that note, remember: “Always keep it simple, and make sure you wear new fashion and feel good. And who better than Splash to allow you to indulge?”

Bless you and thank you for all your support.
