With spring just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to give your wardrobe a bit of attention. Luckily we’re on hand to offer some inspiration for the coming season’s look and feel.

 

Our Splash store at the Mall of the Emirates recently unveiled the Spring/Summer collection for 2012, giving fashion fans a sneak preview of what will be hitting the shops later this year.  

 

For woman, our new collection adds a splash of colour to your wardrobe – it’s all about being bold, beautiful and daring. Tropical prints were a big hit at the collection launch, with printed tops emphasising associations with bright, beautiful weather – including palm trees and juicy peaches. Other fruits to make it out of the fruit basket and onto these fun printed tops include bananas, strawberries, oranges, lemons and cherries, each combined with a 50’s-inspired polka-dot pattern – the ideal way to add a playful touch to any weekend outfit.

 

The big look for men is Romantic Nautical - a theme that plays on fun-filled days spent at the seaside or a leisurely stroll along the Riviera. The nautical style is all about looking crisp, classy and elegant - think of being on the deck of an exclusive cruise ship, or lounging by the bar at the yacht club, and you’re right on-track. It’s a look that shouts refined luxury and effortless style.

 

The showcase offered fashion conscious Splash fans a glimpse of the coming key trends, but keep an eye out in-store and online to see all of the latest fashions for the new season.

  • Bright colours lift your mood and make you feel more feminine. Try a little colour blocking mix ‘n’ match.
  • Instead of resorting to baggy clothes, wear pieces that stretch; they’re comfortable, figure-flattering and don’t hide your body – it’s good to watch the weight disappearing before your eyes.

  • As with all clothes, fit is extremely important - constantly pulling up straps or your waistband during a workout is a disruption you can do without.

Splash unveils 2012 ‘A New Beginning’

Touted as the world’s first 13-image calendar - with combined influences from ancient Mayan predictions and sci-fi B-movies - the second edition of the Splash Calendar explores the prophecy of the End of the World on December 21, 2012. 

 

 

The calendar ends on this date only to start again on December 22, 2012, in what we call ‘A New Beginning’. An artist’s vision of the New World, the calendar brings to life a world of ultramodern glamour against a backdrop of bare metal and warm colours.

 

 

Bound to tickle the creative fancy, this fascinating combination of art, vision and fashion features sets created by a team of international technicians specially flown in for the shoot. Every prop used is made from recycled materials, including the custom-made
outfits worn by the model. An art connoisseur’s piece, the 2012 Splash Limited Edition Calendar portrays 13 different avatars of new world glamour in unprecedented creativity and optimism.

 

 

With a vision to make the calendar a part of every home's living space, the calendar will also be available in a desktop version across all Splash Stores in the region from January 1, 2012 along with a minimum purchase of AED 100. Here's to a new beginning!
